Gradkowski had driven Oakland down the field in relief of an ineffective JaMarcus Russell and given the team a brief energy jolt, but his fumble took all the life out of the Raiders. Game ball Pace started the proceedings by forcing a Russell fumble at the Raiders' 4-yard line on the game's first play from scrimmage and effectively ended them with his strip of Gradkowski. In between, he had another sack and finished with seven tackles, three sacks and the two forced fumbles.
