On Tuesday night Zidane helped spearhead the Match Against Poverty and the Gallic genius entertained the crowd with some lovely skills. Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo pooled together a star-studded group of football legends for a United Nations charity match in Greece on Tuesday aimed at fighting world poverty. The World Cup-winners and UNDP ambassadors brought together an All Stars team who drew 2-2 against Greek giants Olympiakos in front of 30,000 fans in Athens. Funds from the events were raised to support earthquake-hit Haiti and flood-devatsted Pakistan. Zizou made sure to give the paying crowd an entertaining experience, and one move in particular showed that despite hanging up his boots several years agao, the great Frenchman still has the skills. Collecting the ball tight on the touchline, Zidane showed off his expert juggling skills as ecsaped being pinned in a cul-de-sac by lifting the ball classily over an opponents head. Zidane still got the skills. An amazing move of Zidane from the Benefit match Olympiakos All Stars 2 -- Zidane & Friends 2 (Match Against Poverty, December 14, 2010) Zidane was influential in the early stages as his cohorts stormed to an early 2-nil lead courtesy of a Sa Pinto double. The Greeks however scored midway through the first half before finding a leveller early in the second. There was one great moment of magic from Zidane when the great Frenchman showed off his juggling skills. Vanavond werd in Athene de benefietwedstrijd "Match against poverty" tussen Olympiakos All Stars en Zidane, Ronaldo & Friends gespeeld. De wedstrijd stond volledig in het teken van een goed doel van de Verenigde Naties. Er speelden grote sterren mee: Zinedine Zidane (France), Ronaldo (Brazil), Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast), Pedro Pauleta, Fernando Couto, Sa Pinto, Luis Boa Morte and Nuno Gomes (Portugal), Pavel Nedved (Czech Republic), Pierre van Hooijdonk, Ronald de Boer and Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Netherlands), Gheorghe Popescu (Romania), Luciano da Silva, William and Sonny Anderson (Brazil), Raul Albiol (Spain), Mahmadou Diarra (Mali) and Sabri Lamouchi (France). |
