**UPDATE** Delta bending over backwards to sort this out now. First class flights back to the UK :D **UPDATE : Thanks to everyone who's helped this go viral! Twittering : #DeltaAirPeeBags On Saturday 17th June I was scheduled to fly from London Heathrow to Minneapolis for the start of a week long trip to the US. Stuff started to go wrong right from the start.... Firstly the check-in guy (Julian) screwed up my boarding and baggage passes as he was too busy telling me about his tooth ache and the wonderful meds he was on. I spotted his error as I left the check-in desk and headed for security - he'd issued me with a boarding pass for a flight to Boston instead of Minneapolis. Luckily (or so I thought) I caught this mistake and got him to issue me with a correct boarding pass. Unfortunately my bag had already gone off down the conveyor but he promised it would be waiting at the gate for me...it wasn't and due to him taking the original baggage ticket I refused to board the plane and was rebooked to fly the next day. In the meantime they would locate my baggage and make sure it didn't go to Boston. Well after several additional hours at Heathrow I left for home without my bag - being told that if no-one called me then the bag was lost, possibly on route to Boston. This turned out to be the case but I was assured on checking in on the Sunday that my bag had been forwarded from Boston to Minneapolis and would be there when I arrived some 9+ hours later. My original seat was a comfort economy window seat and I had now been issued with a regular economy, middle of a row seat. I was promised this would be sorted and I would be upgraded to business class at the gate by the check-in superviser. When I got to the gate the gate staff refused that upgrade based on my ticket type - completely ignoring the fact they had screwed up my departure and baggage and had cost me time and money in having to return to the airport. When I arrived in Minneapolis I went to the baggage folks and they informed me my bag had been sent back to London and that I needed to call London to arrange for them to send it back the next day. They did that but on arrival in Minneapolis they promptly sent the bag on to Boston again!! The 2 folks working on the counter at MSP thought it was hilarious, to the point that the little asian girl working there kept having to duck down beneath the counter to try and hide her laughter! My bag finally arrived in Minneapolis today (June 21st), a full 4 days after it was initially checked in! The bag was delivered to my hotel this morning - happy days thought I....until I opened it up and found what you see in the vid. The vid really doesnt do it justice as you cannot smell the stench of urine thru the lens. So far Delta Airlines have been either uncontactable at Minneapolis or rude and dismissive and insistent that only their permanently engaged toll free number can help. Currently I am awaiting a response from them as to what is to be don |
