| ***WARNING! Outrageous footage of cabbie vs passenger who slammed his door too forcefully. Escalating from a small conflict on the sidewalk into a full on personal dodg'ems session on Blvd St-Laurent. One minute I was drawing pictures of stadiums, next minute somebody is fighting for their life..(It began with one of the passengers slamming the door to the cab too hard on exiting the cab. Cab driver jumped out and confronted him on the sidewalk while the other passengers remained inside to pay. I left the scene as the verbal conflict escalated, presuming it would run itself out... I returned home to hear the commotion outside, where the conflict had escalated and the cab driver was aiming his cab in the wrong direction down St-Laurent towards the former passengers. Random passers-by joined into apprehend the cab driver. It was with much reluctance I have run this vid. It is a comment on how a small disagreement can escalate beyond expectation. By no means did the cab driver drop off a group of cub scouts, but his vehemence in confronting the passengers might have been his first mistake. He was not going to turn back time and stop the door from being slammed. (it was slammed v hard, but didn't break anything) and by "discussing'' the issue with these guys seemed to me, a fruitless task, and he'd have done better just brushing it off and hoping his next fare is nice and he could go home to his wife after a busy night with just a few sighs. Instead he's "ruined his career'' a you can hear me say in the vid. I started videoing the event once the cab first hit the lamppost, missing random passersby, inflaming the crowd. I was more in fear for the cabbie... For a time he pauses and has his music on loud. It's as if he's having a final reflection that his night is over and perhaps there's regret. You hear me yelling get the hell out of there...once it seemed obvious the cabbie was not going to set any boundaries... My prayers and thoughts go out to everybody involved. As far as I know the victim has survived. PLEASE KEEP YOUR COMMENTS CLEAN.
